Heat Transfer Decal; Thick text thickness, 97-100mm wide Arrowhead; Arrowhead is almost solid red, dots between WWW are solid and without holes in the middle. MVE: This was applied to many neckerchiefs of varying composition, colors and border types; arrowhead sizes may vary and detail thickness may vary slightly.
The original Blue Book listings for the Ah’Tic 50th Anniversary neckerchiefs were fundamentally flawed. The neckerchiefs were created with a heat transfer and ironed on to Neckerchiefs. Blue Book categorized the neckerchiefs based on variations in the heat transfers, variations in the neckerchiefs they were applied to (such as material, border and color) and the quality of the application of the heat transfer. A bad transfer could cause details to become blurred, appear to be heavier or thicker than they are in actuality or other variations that aren’t accurate. Patch Vault renumbers the Neckerchiefs into five separate listings, each noted with MVE (Minor Variations Exist). These listings correspond to the five known decals that exist. These variations are distinguished by the length of the “Ah’Tic – 139” text at the bottom of each neckerchief, the thickness of text and important details such as whether or not the dots in WWW are solid or more like the letter “o”, and whether details are visible in the “50” which wouldn’t be caused by heat transfer issues.
The “thin” variation “Ah’Tic – 139” text is 57mm wide and the letters are noticeably thinner. The “standard” variation is 58mm wide and the lettering is thicker than the “thin” variation but still has significant definition with holes being well defined for the “A” and “9”. The “thick” variation is 58-59mm and the “A” and “9” are both nearly solid with small holes defined, the dots between WWW are solid. The “50” in the center appears as almost solid red with no interior definition. Instead of well-defined ridges in the right of the arrowhead the “Thick” variety is almost solid with little definition. The Narrow Arrow variety is 90mm in width (as opposed to 95-97mm for the others)
The fourth variety is for neckerchiefs that employ the 50th anniversary logo but that lack “Ah’Tic – 139” at the bottom. They are of “standard” thickness in the lettering.
These issues are being categorized as follows:
N9: Thin text; 95-97mm wide Arrow; dots between WWW are not solid and are “o” shapes with holes in the middle.
N10: Standard text; 95-97mm wide Arrow; dots between WWW are not solid and are “o” shapes with holes in the middle.
N11: Thick text; 95-97mm wide Arrow; solid dots between WWW
N12: Thick text; Narrow Arrow (90mm); solid dots between WWW
N13: No Name/Number; Thick text, solid dots between WWW
