It was added based on the image from Jerry Roger's book The History of the Order of the Arrow in Alabama -- not an actual patch -- to help clarify confusion over that and the R5a.\r\n\r\nThis is from the collection of a south Alabama collector. A collector from east Alabama says he has one but has not provided a picture of his piece. There wasn't an example of this in the Topkis-Morely or Conley Williams collections.\r\n\r\nThe example shown here is thread for thread an R3 down to the upward bump in the green line over 'LODGE'. The dots on this piece are too perfect and too round when compared to the dots on the R5 rounds.\r\n\r\nMost Alibamu collectors -- except those mentioned above who 'have one' -- believe this is a fake. We believe the R4's here and in Jerry Rogers book were R3's with dots sewn on later by an individual.\r\n\r\nAlibamu's collectors propose one of the following actions be taken:\r\n1) Remove the '179 same size as other lettering' description and create a YR1 for the patch mentioned here.\r\n2) Add'questionable issue' to the R4 and create a R5c for the second patch pictured. R5c the neck touches 7&9, has no eye." material_id: - - 8 issue_shape_id: - - 3 uuid: - - "+tdido93R3M=" designer: - - Charles B.
