The material of the neckerchief is like a high quality table linen.
1953-1957
The N1 is believed to have been issued between 1953 until 1957. Neckerchiefs in lodge 296 were restricted to 1 per life. To receive a new neckerchief the old neckerchief had to be turned in. This did not apply to just this issue, but also to the subsequent lodge neckerchiefs the N2 and N3. Since the neckerchief was a SSC design they did not hold up well. To obtain a N2 or N3 the N1 would have had to be turned in. It was required to wear a lodge neckerchief to all OA functions whether it was a fellowship, conclave, or NOAC.
