- This issue was unknown to myself, Larry Lane, until after arriving at the Jamboree.
At the time of the pre-order, as I was on NJ staff, I was informed that there was
a special purple mylar shoulder strip that would be issued two per scout/scouter
for uniform wear. A total of 66 were ordered of these shoulder strips. These did
not arrive in time for staff to get them prior to arriving at Jamboree. It is unclear
if any scouts/scouters actually utilized these specially designated uniform wear
JSPs. At some point it was determined that in addition to uniform shoulder strips
there should also be uniform OA sets. Two were issued to each dues paid OA member
attending the event. However, since then I have learned that one OA member was accidently
skipped. As only 24 were ordered for 12 OA members, this 13th member, may not get
two of these sets. At this time no mention of a re-order has been made. Reported
by Assistant Scoutmaster of Contingent as being approved by the 296 LEC prior to
ordering. Even though at this time it appears that these were approved by the LEC
in accordance with Patchvault guidance for lodge listings this is being listed as
a Q. Patchvault advises all listings of 25 or less total quantity to be listed as
a Q. In the past we have used Q to designate council issued OA memorabilia that
was not approved by the LEC or Key 3. That does not seem to be the situation for
this patch.
