Lodge Reject. Dark brown council name, tree trunk and flying geese variety.
Rejected reorder of the S1 regular issue flap. Manufacturer accidentally produced the flap with a black border instead of red. Patches issued to new Ordeal and Brotherhood members at the Spring Ordeal in May, 1969 inside their OA Handbooks. When the error was discovered, during the weekend, all of the patches were recalled with a promise to send the proper patch. The remainder of the order was returned to the manufacturer, Moritz Embroidery Works. Legend has it that the Scout Executive kept a dozen of the rejected flaps to give out as gifts. The patch pictured here surfaced at the Philly TOR in 1997. It apparently came from the Moritz files, which means it could be patch #13. About a half dozen of these flaps are known in collectors' hands. One is on display at the Las Vegas International Scouting Museum.
