1997 60th Anniversary Service Award
DURING THE 60th ANNIVERSARY YEAR OF THE TONKAWA LODGE
(1937-1997) A SPECIAL CHALLENGE WAS ISSUED TO EACH MEMBER OF
THE LODGE TO ATTEND AND CHEERFULLY PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST TWO
OF THE FIVE SPECIAL SERVICE PROJECTS PLANNED DURING 1997. FOUR
WERE WORK DAYS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE LINDSAY LODGE AND
ONE WAS A WORK DAY AT DRIPPING SPRINGS HORSE CENTER IN
PREPARATION OF THE COUNCIL CUB SCOUT RESIDENT CAMP.
FORTY-TWO ACCEPTED THE CHALLENGE AND WILL BE PRESENTED
THE SERVICE AWARD PATCH TONIGHT. EACH WILL RECEIVE TWO PATCHES
WITH APPRECIATION FROM THE LODGE IN RECOGNITION TO THEIR
CHEERFUL SERVICE TO THE CAPITOL AREA COUNCIL AND THE TONKAWA
LODGE. ADDITIONAL PATCHES WERE ORDERED UPON WRITTEN REQUEST
FROM THE AWARD RECIPIENTS ON DECEMBER 1, 1997, AND WILL BE
AVAILABLE TONIGHT AFTER PAYMENT FOR THEIR SPECIAL ORDER.
