Lodge History

Hiawassee Lodge was chartered to the West Georgia Council in LaGrange Georgia in 1946. On January 1, 1964 the West Georgia Council and the Georgia Alabama Council in Columbus Georgia merged to form the Chattahoochee Council. Hiawassee and Chattahoochee lodges were merged at the time of the council mergers. The Chattahoochee Lodge name and number (204) were used for the new merged lodge, while the Hiawassee bobcat became the new lodge totem.
